A brief history of McKownville

2024 marks 100 years since the founding of the McKownville Improvement Association and we celebrated this benchmark on Saturday, May 18th, in McKownville Park, adjacent to Stuyvesant Plaza. This began at noon with the dedication of the new roadside marker honoring William McKown, for whom our neighborhood is named.
