Text information from NRHP nomination of 1982
Stephen Pangburn House entered on the NRHP 10 November 1982
Application file # 21; National Register Guilderland Multiple
Resource Area # 31.
Located on the eastern fringe of the hamlet known as Parker's
Corners.
Features: The house has unusual pedimented lintels at the
windows and doors; the one-story ell on the east side has narrow
eyebrow windows and a porch with scroll sawn brackets; the interior
retains much of the original detail.
Date of initial construction: ca. 1864
Historical and Architectural importance: This well-preserved
19th-century farmhouse has been in the same family since its
construction in 1864. It was built for Stephen Pangburn, a local
farmer, and is now occupied by his great-grandson. Details such as a
mitred arch window and door surrounds, attic story windows, and
scroll sawn brackets distinguish the building. These and many
original details on the interior survive intact. The building's
continued association with descendents of the Pangburn family and
its architectural integrity contribute to its local architectural
and historical significance. Located in an area upon which modern
suburban development is encroaching, the building stands out as a
significant example of a nineteenth century Victorian farmhouse.
